Case Study - Norfolk House  www.thenorfolksouthsea.co.uk

Norfolk House is a quality, family run guest house in Southsea.

The owners had several key aspects they wanted a web site to provide. The site should provide pertinent details on the location of the guest house and also the facilities available.

A page for directions gives guests access to detailed maps and even links for train times.

Facilities are listed and also shown in a clean, simple montage of images. To assist their guests Norfolk House also asked for a section to be added showcasing some of the local attractions situated in Southsea and the surrounding areas.

Eye catching features

Traditional guest house and hotel web sites can put potential guests off by having pages crowded with photos of their rooms. Using a slide show style animation the facilities at the Norfolk are presented in a calm, concise order so the viewer isn’t overwhelmed but still sees the quality of the guest house.

Eye catching features

Static maps are fine but only provide limited detail. The Norfolk’s site makes use of Google Maps, giving a high quality map the viewer can control, zooming in for more road names or zooming out to gauge where the guest house is in relation to other locations. The local bus terminal and railway stations are pinpointed so guests can easily find the Norfolk when they stay.
